The holidays are a time for giving, so why not help those in need while also feeding into your comfy-casual shoe obsession? This November, Toms is launching a limited edition collection for Targetand we couldn’t be more excited. The collection, which takes founder Blake Mycoskie’s “one for one” model a step further, will allow shoppers to bring home our favourite lazy-girl shoe while at the same time providing nourishment, warmth and shoes to a person in need. For each item purchased a donation, of either a pair of shoes, a blanket or meals, will be made.
So what’s so different from the usual Toms “one for one,” you ask? The campaign, which originally sought to donate a pair of shoes for each pair purchased to children in Argentina and South America, will now seek to help those in need a little closer to home. Earlier this week the brand announced that with the help of Target, they have the potential to provide more than 11 million donations through Canadian Red Cross and Food Banks Canada. The Toms for Target line will also feature up to 50 products, including the classic slip-on shoe, home goods, as well as apparel and accessories for women, men and kids.
So when you’re buying a new pair of Toms this Christmas, you’ll be doing a lot more than just looking good in comfortable shoes; you’ll be giving back to Canadians in need, making their holiday season a little brighter.
The Toms for Target collection will be available nationwide on November 16, 2014.
