New York favourite Prabal Gurung sets his sights on the well heeled, as he debuts his first ever shoe collection for Spring 2015 this week. The luxury womenswear designer, donned by red carpet stars like Diane Kruger and Zoe Saldana as well as the fashion stars like Lauren Santo Domingo and Gigi Hadid, is no stranger to grown women clamouring for his wares. However, this week he is sure to set our shoe-crazed world on fire with his latest creations, which consist of four gorgeous pairs of heels that resemble refined yet edgy works of art.
The footwear collection, which made its first appearance on
the runways of New York in his Nepalese-inspired spring show, embodies a sense of elegant femininity with a bite of modernity. With models named after famous female artists like Tracey Emin and Georgia O’Keeffe to celebrated architect Zaha Hadid, the range includes textural and colour-blocked details that delight the eye. A touch of architectural detailing accents the heel of each shoe, with rhodium-plated hardware, to add a bit of edge. For a dose of cool, pops of bright turquoise and deep yellow offset the graphic black and white straps. A particularly sexy number is the all black pair which features a snake embossed print, ideal for a night out during the spring and summer months. We recommend that you get to clicking as these striking shoes will be snapped up before you know it.
